A first offender, rhareed with insobriety, was convicted and discharged, and another was convicted and ordered to pay 17s. Gd. medical expenses. William Joseph Brady was fined 10s., in default 18 hours' imprisonment, on a. che.rge of drunkenness. I'or assaulting William Harrington, Edward .Tames Atkinson was fined -ids., and ordered to pay -is. witnesses' expenses, in default seven davs' imprisonment. Charles James Williamson pleaded guilty of the theft of two parrots, valued at .£2O. the property of the Union S.S. Company. .The case had to be adjourned from the previous sitting of the court. Sir. Organ appeared for Williamson, who was fined ,£2, in default seven days' imprisonment. The revolver practice of one William M'Cloud was disapproved by the Magistrate. M'Cloud was a boarder at Air Henry Brown's Coffee Palace, in the city, and on Tuesday night he fired some shots in his bedroom. He was charged in Court, yesterday with having wilfully damaged one door lock, valued at £\. Mr. Henry Brown gave evidence that he had heard shots, and had gone and remonstrated with M'Cloud, but further shots had been afterwards heard. Bullets had gone through the door, and a lock had been smashed. M'Cloud went into the witness-box am) stated that lie had meant no harm, and had onlv been having "a little fun. Mr. G W. Eiddell, S.M , ordered him to pay the cost of the lock, and witnesses' expenses.
