SEQUEL TO RAILWAY SMASH.
DIRECTOR ACQUITTED ON CRIMINAL CHARGE. Us TelcrraDli-Pres*- Asfocintion-CoDyrlinl (Rec. July 21, 9.25 p.m.) Cape Town, July 21. The managing director of the Kowie railway has been acquitted on tho charge of culpable homicide brought against him in connection with the Blaauwkrantz railway disaster on April 23 last, in which four carringes and the guard's van of a train which , was; crossing tho Blaauwkrantz Bridge, near Grahamstown, toppled over into a chasm beneath. Altogether twenty persons were killed and twenty-one were injured.
