1 RUGBY FOOTBALL. THE ATTRACTIONS THIS DAY. NEAKING THE END. Last Saturday Southern bad what amounted to an off day. To-day, pitted apmst St. Jampa in tho star event at tlie Park, they will have a tougher task in hand. Tho leaders in the competition no longer stand at the giddy altitude they had attained a. couple of we«ks a#o, and no doubt will .sot themselves in sober earnest to better their record of points. Still, Southern have come on at a great puce lately, and if they enter to-day's contest in good form it is quito possible that they may notch a victory and improve the chances of tho ninners-up, Oriental and Athletic. On the neighbouring ground at tho park Petono will try conclusions with Old Boys. There should be a good honest tussle at Petone, where Poneke aro to meet llelroso. ST JAMES CLUB. The teams for St. James Club will be constituted as under in to-day's engagements:— Seniors.—Thomas, Cook, Crowes, Hekita, Clark, Eoberts (2), Hills. Chirnside, King, Moffitt, De Blois, Wright, Donaldson. Juniors.—Newbold, Cotter, Dobson. Moffitf, Young, Perkinson, Liuklater, Kitto, Kells, Eickards, O'Leary, Hope, Outrara, Cairns, Heley, and Sullivan. Fourth.—Mummery, Martin, Heley, Hood, Beddingfield, Moffitt, Mangin, Hamilton, Nicholson, Kceble, Batchelor, Wakefield, Eickards, Bertrand, and Kelloway. THE LEAGUE TEAM FOE ENGLAND.
