Drawing-Room Meeting. On Wednesday afternoon, at the Weslcyan Parsonage, Newtown, Mrs. Ward held a drawing-room meeting in the interests of the W.C.T.U. Mrs. Low, M.A., gave a most interesting address on tho need of women workers. There was a largo attendance, the room being quite full. Mrs. Ward kindly entertained the visitors, and provided a very dainty afternoon tea. Three new members were gained for the Union, while nineteen ladies signed the women's crusade book. Feilding Notes. Mrs. Mills is spending a few days in Marton. Miss Jones (Wairarapa) is staying with friends in Feilding. The English Pierrots gave a most enjoyable concert in the Drill ITall on Wednesday night. Among the audience were Mr. and Mrs. Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson, Mr. 'and Mrs. T. Shannon, Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow,' Misses Shannon, Bruce, Haybittle, Innes-Jones, Long, Wyatt, Prior, Hill, Messrs. Cotterill, Gillespie, Elliot, Phillips, Foote, Logi'e, Young, Rev. A. Innes-Jones, and others. On Saturday the Aorangi Golf Club held a mixed foursome match. Four couples tied for first place, and will play off for tho trophy. Among those playing were Mesdamcs Grut, Harding, Montgomery, Misses Burrell, Bruce, Shannon, Mountfort, Wyatt, O'Halloran, Kirton, Prior, Messrs. Power, Pryde, Parkes. Logie, Miles, Hawke, Hood, Harding, Grut, and Prior. Tho many friends of Mrs. W. A. L. Bailey will regret to hear of her death, which took place on Tuesday after a long illness. Mrs. Margaret Paterson, wife of tho Rev. Jas. Paterson, senior minister at St. John's Presbyterian Church, die'd at her lato residence, 73 Brougham Street, yesterday, at the age of 65 years. Mrs. H. W. Baddeley, of "Tho Pines," Mastcrton, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at "Balmoral." Ladies will be interested to nob that Mrs. liolleston has just received from England a very large assortment of Hair Goods, made of the best quality English hair, including switches suitable for hainlrpssing, in the newest styles, which each •purchaser will be taught gratis.
