LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Da'.gety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At our Palmerston North salo yesterday, a good yarding of sheep and a. small entry of cattle came forward. Sheen were in rather better demand, and. with the exception of two pens, all lines were quoted at the following prices. Cull hoggets, 35.; medium do., 6s. to 75.'2 d.: ewe hoggets, to 10s. 4d.; aged ewes and emptv owes, to lCx: young owes in lamb. 13s. 8(1. to 145.; two-tooth wethers, 10s. lOd.; forward wethers, Us. 9d.; fat do.. 155.; f.it ewes, heavy, to 15s. 6d.: empty heifers, £2 13s. 6d.; cows and cMves. to £4 65.; IBmonths steers, £3 Is. 6d.: 2J-vear steers, to £4 15s. 6d.; 3-year steers, to £5 10s.

Messrs. Dafgcty and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual stock sale' at their Ongaonea, yards yesterday, when they offered 1100 sheen to a large attendance. of tho public. Bidding ira> spirited right throughout, and prices were fully Is. 6d. per head higher than previous sales. They mute as follows:—Hoggets. 6s. 9d. to lis. 7d.: two-tooth wethers, small. 13s. 3d.; four a-nd six-tooth wethers, 13s'. 7d.; mixed aged ewes in lamb, 10s.; fat ewes. 13s. Messrs. Da'.gety and Co., Ltd.. report having held a successful clearing sale of sheep and dairy stock on account of Mr. C. Russell, Stokes Valley, yesterday. The sheen, which 'were in good condition, sold cheaply at the following rates:—4 and 6-tooth ewes in lamb. 125.: two-tooth ewes in lamb, lis.; two-tooth wethers, 9s. 5d.; hoggets. 6s. 7d.; rams, 9s. Cd.; fat wethers, 17s. 6:1. There was good demand for the dairy cows, the average price for the herd being £6 IDs. Cows to calve August and September made £6 10s. to £7 10s.: later ra'.vcrs. £5 15s. to £6 75.: springing heifers. £4 to £5; weaners, 245. 6d.; bull, £2 15s. A considerable number of poultry, implements, furniture, and farm sundries was also sold' at satisfactory prices. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—At I'almorston North on Thursday we offered a fair yarding of sheen, including a line of 12C0 store wethers on account of Mr. A. Harding, of Siberia, which realised 123. .10d. A small entry of cattle met with littie demand. Quotations:—Store wethers, 12?. ICd.: good lambs, 10s. 2d.; small lambs. ss. lOd.; enl! wethers. 9s. 5d.; store cows. .£2 to £3 10s.; fat cows, £5 lCs.; weaners. 20s.

The Now Zealand, Loan and Mercantilo Agency Company, Limited (Palmerston North branch; report:—On Wednesday wo had another successful de.iry sale, when we offered Mr. E. Jones's herd at Karcre. Thn cows were young, and of good duality, and were keenly competed for. the herd averaging £7 18s. Cows in milk made £5 2s. 6d, to £11 55.: cows close to profit. £6 ss. to £13 17s. 6(1.; September calvcrs. £5 ss. to £9 55.; late calvers, £2 to .£4 10s.: ■ springing heifers. £5 ss. to .£6 10s.: heifers in calf, £4 to £4 18s.; weanors, 285.; breeding sows, £2. At Palmerston North on Thursday wo had a heavy yarding of sheen. A better tone prevailed, and a good clearance was effected, recent prices being well maintained. We (junto:—Hoggets (small).
