PETERSBURG. i. , / Scarcely two years have elapsed since widespread interest was aroused by the startling announcement of a wonderful discovery for the successful treatment of nervous disorders. A* is usual in tho case of all great scientific discoveries, the announcement was received sceptically by some people, but, ,on tho other ~ hand, the analysis of the new preparation attracted th-s attention' of eminent physicians, and thev, realising the enormous importance of the discovery, pre-, scribed it immediately for their patients. Remarkably successful results were quickly obtained. . i Among the most eminent physicians who made interesting trials with the new preparation was Dr. Giuseppe Lapponi, Physician-in-Ordinary to Ins Holiness 1 ope . Pius X, but important and remarkable as were his trials, they almost appear in- : significant in comparison with those which have jiH been reported_ upon by Dr. Lian, Director of the Imperial Russian State Hospital for ■ Epileptics at St. , . Petersburg. ~ . . . Apart from the high position which Dr. Lion holds in the medical profession,, he is recognised as one of the greatest living authorities on nervous disorders, and conssquentlv the utmost value'attaches to his report. • The cases which lie selected for trial werc-to say the least-regarded as pt a most hopeless nature, and vet, notwithstanding that almost incredible fact, triumphant success has resulted of the most astounding character that has ever. been. , disclosed to tho medical profession. HOPELESSLY REGARDED CASES. ' ■. .'. The first case in Dr. Lion's report is that of a student, ISI years of age. Ho ' * suffered from Neurasthenia in a very acute form, and his case is ol exceptional interest to the medical profession and public alike, because, his symptoms were those which thousands of persons have experienced without actually being able to name their illnesses . . ~..,., The student's symptoms were depressed mental condition, extreme lrrnability. , violence, changeable and abrupt humour, inability to _ work consistently, weakness of ineiiiorv. loss of appetite, tendrncy to constipation. 1 Ins particular case was treated with "ANTINEUUASTHIN," and after the incredibly short space of a fortnight's treatment Dr. Lion reported as follows:- An liicrnnseil appeme, . and sleep;''in addition, constipation had disappeared, and so had his tendency ■■ to tire rapidly of his work, thus producing an increase in Ins working cnpalnlitv. His temper had become more. cnlin, persistent, and generally se'lf-confidoneo has remd'rka'bly' imfjrovcdv'l ''' " ' r,n' '" ''-''■) The second care was cue of Hysteria. The sufferer, a young ady of 19, was continually, iiv.a,s;ate of' nervousness,, .and generally ,^l p^l^femv' a ■"^!': |, ''■- solute Villi severe ' ■oil's Intotioii. "ANT 1 NLlIf AM HFN .», v : administered, three tablets a day for a for night, with excellent results Jho . . pivient is now well on the wav to full health. The .Hysteria has subsided, and there has returned a splendid appetite for lood. ■'~.. «•.,„' The'third case was that of another y o.nig lady, who had been suffering for . , some considerable time from that most distressing nervous disorder, Epilepsy. Jhe : symptoms were Anaemia, general debility, constant headaches, and coiis ipation, and n tendency to lung weakness. The sufferer was given hrce A.NDNLUIvASTHIN" tablets a dav for two weeks, with tho result thai the girl has now returned to" health, her mind is rejuvenated, and from a weak, morose being slio has ■, . turned to a cheerful, happy, healthy person. ~,,.,• i The fourth was of a similar nature, the patient particularly being very, .do- ... pressed. "ANTINKURASTHIN" was administered, and in three weeks time a. , successful cure was established. .... . , Tho fifth case, one of chronic dipsomania, was characterised bvpronounced . lihvsieal and mental-exhaustion and seyc re;digestivc disorder. D .. HAIUaIAjNA h •'A'NTINKI'UVSTHIN" was administered, and after three weeks » sp ouriirt- im- . pro'vement was noted. The patient is no w mentally calm, and the whole system has been brought back to health. BRILLIANT ACHIEVEMENTS UNPARALLELED. These trials constitute an achievement, the brilliancy of which must appeal to the entire medical profession, for the results arc without- parallel in the , whole history of Neuraslhcnia. Although only five cases have been reportedlon, thousands of' others of an equal or less acute nature have also been treated as : "matter of course with successful results. Now. if .these cases had been treated . in the old wav of administering stimulants.or medicinal tonics, it is ccitain that : , the conditions'of the sufferers would have gone from bad to worse. Mr H. A. Goddard, of Watson's Buildings, Auckland has arranged for sup- ; plies of .\nlineurasthin for New Zealand, and will send sample, together wi h ~ valuable treatise, on receipt of stamps for ninepenee-and has such strong faith , n"4 wonderful'.bencficial-properties of Antinenrasthin thai he is confident that ... . this trial supplv will demonstrate its value.
