E. M. Isaacs and J. A. Loughton were appointed to represent the union i on the Appointment Board. PUTTING ON "THE POWER." Some ftir'football was witnessed at the Park yesterday when the Wellington and Christ'church Tiniuway teams tliat took part in the Kohn Shield competition engaged in a friendly contest. At the opening Wellington; attacked, and open forward play followed in the visitors' territory. Then the Wellington backs' dashed forward in an organised rush, and Small got over. A. Clark converted. Wellington, 5-0. Phillips soon afterwords obtained a second try for Wellington under similar circumstances, and Clarke again notched the additional points. AVellineton 10, Christchurch 0. Further tries were scored for Avollington by Bridge and M'Bran. ' ' In each caso the hick failed. Wellington IG, Christchurch 0. Towards the end of the spell the visitors showed themselves good in defence, but thov seldom got away from their own line, and Wellington wero pressing when halt-time was called. The Wellington walk-over continued in the second spell. The visitors had to bear the brunt of a spirited attack, and their efforts to retaliate were ineffective. Aimless travelling up and down the field ended in E. J. Wills slipping over, from a scrum near the Christchurch lino, to another score for Wellington. The kick failed. Wellington 10, Christchurch 0. \ mark or two.' cleverly taken, staved off the trouble for Christchurch in the middle part, of the snell, but they made no headway in attack.
