(?rom Our Special Correspondent.! Mastcrton, Julv 20. The Mastcrton Public Library has at present three hundred subscribers. Inquiry shows that there are about 4000 works of fiction on the, shelves, and that the demand is almost entirely restricted to this class of literature. The shed was detached from the main buihline, and Hie fire was prevented from spreading. The AVairarapa Caledonian Society held its third winter evening concert' imt evening, when there was a large audience to 'appreciate • the splendid programme Miumitied. Mr. J, B, M'Koittie I presided.
