A CURRENT MISCONCEPTION. (By Tclcgraph--Fre?is Association.) Auckland, July 20. Two cases will bo taken in (ho Auckland Police Court to-morrow against persons for failing to register under the defence scheme. One of the defendants is a jockey. Captain Hawkins, w!i6 has the matter in band, states that, in the mattor of religious objectors, nvauiy have con: fused tho issue. Irrespective of objections on religious grounds, registration had to bo complied with, and tho Act made provision for tho hearing of objec- j tions. If this proved well-founded, he understood that provision would bo made to have conscientious objectors undergo some civil training.
