ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

W.F.A. COMMITTEE. A short meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Air. 13. L. Salmon presiding. A letter was received from the town clerk advising the association that the City fipforvea Committee had granted the use of Duppa Street grounds for .Schoolboys' League matches on Saturday mornings. L. Palmer was granted a transfer from tho Boys' Institute sixth A team to tho sixth 1J team. Affiliation was granted to the Kelburne Presbyterian Sunday School Club,. The secretary of the Otago F.A. wrote stating that it was impossible to send a school representative leam to Wellington this season. A complaint was made as to certain conduct on one of the city gruunds and the secretary was instructed to write the

secretaries drawing their attention to the matter mentioned.

Tho secretary reported that tho caretakers of the city reserves had nl>ieclrd to teams practising on the grounds before the matches commcnced. It was decided to instruct all clubs that, in future, no practice must take plate on city reserves prior to a match. A donation of a set, of silver medals for the runners-up in tho Schoolboys' league was accepted from ,Mr. T. Shields. JUr. K. FT. Davenport was elected selector of the Second Division representative team-

A committee has been former! (ivil'h llr. F. M. IS. Fisher, M.l'., ns chairman) with tho object of forming a sportsground near Brooklyn, and a Jotter was received from this committeo asking for tho W.F.A.'s support for tho appointment of a delegate to represent it on a deputation which is presently to wait on tho City Council in reference to tho matter. Tho letter further stated that tho area in view is that part of the Town Belt in the vicinity of Upper Willis Street, Wordsworth Street, and Jlitchelltown lying between the Brooklyn tram-lino and Ohiro Eond. It is within easy access of the city and, it was stated, could be formed into a splendid recreation ground at a reasonable cost.

■ Mr. 11. Is'. Holmes wn9 appointed the W.I'.A. delegate. BOYS' REPRESENTATIVE GAME. The boys' representative match Wellington v. Marlborough, which has been arousing interest for some time, was played on tho Basin Reserve yesterday afternoon. Wellington won tho toss, and tho visitors (Reds) kicked off with a strong sun in their eyes. Before tho spell was far advanced, Fitzgerald, of Wellington, secured, and scored what turned out to be the only goal of the match. A' strong appeal was mado for off-side, but the referee ruled otherwise. The home team was' encouraged by this success and attacked hotly, but tho shooting was weak, and this, combined with a fair defence by Cheeseman, Fitzgerald, and O'Brien, kept tho score down. Several times tho Blenheim boys broke away, but lack of combination spoilt their chances. I In tho second half play livened up considerably, and it was easily seen that the home team was having the better of the exchanges. Marshall (centre-half) and Waller (right-wing) did fine work, but no results were forthcoming. Some singlehanded efforts on the part of the visitors shifted play occasionally, and on one occasion O'Brien broke clean away, but Smith (in goal for Wellington) saved the final shot. The remainder of the spell was largely in favour of the home side, who ought to have added several goals, Fitzgerald and Flaws missing some easy chances. ' Mr. B. L. Salmon was referee. The visitors' team, considering that they only adopted tho Association game last season, showed a knowledge of the points, and with a better idea of combination would' be a very fair, side. Fitzgerald, O'Brien (2). Spittal and Penny were tho best on the Marlborough -side. The Wellington team's play was disappointing and much below League form, only Marshall, Waller, and (in the second spell) Thomas doing themselves justice.
