The special attraction in the Stadium last night was the wrestling match between Louis and .Joe Gardiner for tho welter-weight professional championship of Xew Zealand and a purse of .£2O. Robertson, who holds the title of light-weight of Scotland, and is the light and middle-weight titleholder in New Zealand, took the floor in lino form, but,' according to his own statement, he required another two weeks to bo really fit. He had beaten Gardinei when the two met at Stratford, but on that occasion Gardiner was not well. Robertson had an advantage in height and reach, but his small opppnent kept him busy at tho outset, although it was apparent before long that Robertson was the more versatile of the pair, althougn Gardiner was undoubtedly clever. The first bout proceeded for 37 minutes before a fall was secured by Robertson by a combination of the half-nelson and a leg-lock. The refereo had no hesitation in awarding a clean fall, but a number of the audience thought otherwise, and cries of "no fall" were heard from one side of the ring. Gardiner disputed the fall on the ground that he got a brldgo oil immediately! Robertson ofTered to so again, biit Gardiner did not accept the offer. Eobertson got his second fall, and with it the verdict, after 25 minutes. The winner secured a hold on his opponent which would have dislocated the shoulder had Gardiner not gone down. Robertson's win was a popular one. The holds barred wero tho double-nel-son, strangle-hold, i half-strangle, flyingmare with palm up, leg up the back with, the bar on, thumb and finger grip, foottwist, and jiu-jitsu holds.

Mr. iW. Jones was referee. SPORTS TO-NIGHT. Excellent entries have .been received for. the sports meeting 'which is to be held in the Stadium to-night. As matters stand, the competition, for the Partridge Cup is very open, and a good deal of interest centres in the question who will win the cup. During tho cvsnir:; an exhibition of sharpshooting, knifethrowing,- and lassooing will be given by Captain M'Cloud, who has already given a taste of his skill. BOXING FOR SOLDIERS. ' Members of the Territorial troops will be given an opportunity of demonstrating their skill with the boxing gloves tomorrow evening, when a special competition for "Territorials" will be held in the Stadium. Satisfactory entries havo been received, and as there are several expert boxers amongst the soldier ranks an interesting night's sport is anticipated. ... ' . - "WIRELESS. ■ Arrangements have been completed bj Mr. Boswell to give a demonstration of wireless telegraphy. Messages will be sent from one part oi' the Exhibition to <tu* other. The fun will be kept, going in the evening by a .picture show of exclusive films in the theatre, and a repeat performance of the "Living Bridge" in the Stadium. This was a very.fine spectacle and as better arrange-, incuts for, controlling the crowd will be made, on' Saturday evening, the sight should be even a prettier ono as all will be able to obtain a gogd view of the pageant. Th'ose who intend visiting, the Exhibition'on Saturday should see that they get a' card going in 011 which they are to write the number, of people they think will pass .through tho turnstiles (hiring-the day.
