Wickersham, United States Attorney-General, of deliberately permitting tho Statute of Limitations to elapse against an Alaska syndicate's agents, who defrauded tho Government through perjury. Tho amount involved is .CIO.OOO. Tho committee has ordered an inquiry, tho Attorney-General to produce all documontary evidence in his possession. Tho alleged fraud is in connection with coal contracts, the Attorney-General, who received the evidence, failing,, it is alleged, t» act thereon until the' expiry of tho statutory time. Tho syndicate is said to comprise prominent English and American financiers.
