The Auckland University College Council decided to-day to request tho .Minister for Education to use his best endeavours during tho coming session to secure a vote of not less than JMO.OOO as an iustalinent of the sum of .£IOO,OOO promised by tho Prime Minister to provide new college buildings in Auckland. It was also decided to ask the Minister what information should be furnished to tho Department of Education in connection with the project, tho Minister having advised the council to consult the Department before obtaining plans or culling for competitive designs. The debate on a proposal that sketch plans should be obtained was postponed.
