Mrs. Bunny, of ],owor Ilutt, informed a representative of this paper 'that the sec rotary had no authority to make such an announcement. On the- contrary, a resolution was passed at a moetiup of subscribers at the Hutt, (hat the lists were to remain open until (he end of iho present month, and it is hoped that Ihe people desirous uf contributing to the fund will not refrain from doing so.
