' Mr.' R. Ellison, who has represented the National Dairy Association of Xew Zealand in London for the last eighteen months,-lias returned to Xew Zealand. Association, the Sheep Committee reported that the question of giving power to judges of merino sheep to transfer any sheep' from one section to another had been considered, and it had been decided to recommend that the old method of throwing tho onus of classification on the exhibitor should be reverted to. Some Southland farmers tried to kill thistles by a free application of whey. The thistles throve, but the grass was ' absolutely destroyed, states an exchange. :In connection with a circular letter from stock auctioneers, recommending tho doing away with the pedigree stock sale at the show, the Cattle Committee of tho' Canterbury A. and P. A.ssoci.itipn reported that it was considered that many exhibitors looked to tho show as an opportunity of selling their stock, and, if tho sale were done- away with a,.yvumbcr of entries would be lost. On this account the cotnmittee could not see its way to recommend. the discontinuance of the pedigree stock sale. The Sheep Committee reported that after careful consideration 'it had decided that'it could not •recommend the discontinuance- of the pedigree stock sale. A long red maniold, grown in Canterbury, weighed GJJIb. At the Uonbaix Exhibition, in Trance, at which New Zealand wool and frozen meat are being shown; Sunday is the great day.
