Tho forest fires in tho Porcupine mining district in Alberta are now under control. Relief parties have been dispatched to bury the dead. Refugees report that the trails are strewn with prospectors' bodies. Later. Tho fires in Northern Ontario aro under control. It is estimated that iivo hundred persons have perished, and twenty thousand are homeless. Tho flames swept an area of ten thousand miles. Detroit, July U. A forest fire has been raging in Michigan for three days. Seven persons aro known to be dead, and scores aro missing. The loss amounts to two million pounds. Ono thousand squares miles were swept.
