INQUIRY INTO A WRECK. By Tolctraph—Press Assneiation-CoDyrieht Now York, July H. Contradictory evidence has been given at tho inquiry into the wreck of the steamer Santa Rosa. The officers of. tho schooner who offered aid declared that tho sea was smooth. The Santa Rosa's officers state that the sea was not smooth, and that it was dangerous to transfer passengers. (Rec. July 17, 0.25 a.m.) New York, July 16. At tho investigation regarding tho wreck of the Santa Rosa, the survivors, in their evidence, stated that the rescue of all on board could easily have been effected. Ono witness declared that greater efforts could have been made to save tho cargo and cattle.
