Messrs. Dalgety anil Co. report:—At our Palmcrston North sale on Thursday a fair yarding of sheep and cattle came to liand, which sold as below:—Sheep: Cull lambs. lDd. to ss. 4d.:"f.nt. ewes, 6s. 10d.; empty ewes. 7s. lid.; 2-tooth wether?, small, 12s. 6(1. Cattle: Eightceiwnonths steers, £3 45.; store cows, .£2 17s. 6d. to .€3 13«.; two-year heifer?, £3 16*,; backward dairy cowk, £3 17s. 6d. to £5; fat cows, £S 10s.; fat and forward bullocks, to £7 10s.
The Kcw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. 'Feildins branch) reports for the week ending July 14 as follows On Wednesday we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on account of Mr. William Mitchell, Valley llond, Kimbolton, and have to report a- successful sale. Grade Jersey cows made from £9 7s. 6d. to £12. One exceptionally good cow realised £20. Karly calving cow?, £7 to £9; backward calvers, £5 to £5 ICs.; cows in milk, £7 10s.; yearling Jersey bull, £5; Shorthorn wenner heifers, 325. and 065.; good porkers, 235.; slips, 9s. Sundries made good values. At Fending yesterday we had a heavy entry of sheep, and a moderate yarding of cattle. We wore successful in placing the uulk of our entry of sheep. The cattle consisted mostly of dairy cows. Wo quote as follows-.—Sheep: Two-tooth Romney ewes, in lamb to stud Itomney rams, 205.; e-.ves, in lamb to T.omney rams, 9s. 6d. to Us. .d.; eivcs, in lamb to Southdown and Lincoln Tarns, lis. 6d.; ewes, 3s. 4d.; fat ewes, ICs.: wethers, Us. 9d.; fat lambs, lis. 6d. and lis. 7d.; ewe lambs, 6s. 6d.: mixed lambs, 7s. 4d. Cattle: Dairy lieifcrs, £2 155.; dairy cows at various prices, up to £7 ICs. . . .
