Hunter said of the- movement that, there was a likelihood of it being a success. ...There were a number of reasons ■why v. Blake that, there was a stock bank issued under the direction of Ihv Canterbury A. and P. Association, and would not tho present movement be iiutagoni-tic to IliDt association?

A number of letters from prominent 'breeders ofTeriiicf cordial support in the proposed i'nnnntion of a New Zcnlaiul Clydesdale horse society were read. The Egmont A. nnrt V. Siiciety bus decided to fall into line with Otago in the matter, and other societies have promised hearty co-operation, in tho project. The fruit growers of .Ilatiima have received ii visit from Jlr. Nottasc, Government orchard instructor, who jjavo on exhibition of pnining and spraying, in Jlr. I.owlhor's orchard. A eorrcspondent of the "Ifmvke's Bay Herald" says:—"The day was unfavourable, or doubtle.-s more would have been present, but some 25 persons rolled up, nnd were well repaid for their trouble. The fact that the trees in this orchard are only a tew years old made it particularly interestinsv.as most of those present own orchards nf the same description and gained more information on how to manage them than they would have done if the trees were old and worn out."
