lIUTT CONCERT RETURNS .£SO. Tho charity concert which was licltl at the Lower llutt lust, evening in aid of tho llcjiple fund was one of the most successful ever organised in the district. 'Cho hall was filled to overflowing, and tho audience was treated to » tirst-class concert, the programme being contributed by 31 rs. 'Wilson, Mrs. Rathbone, Mrs. Dciihard, Mrs. Teresa M'Knroe, Misses A. and R. Segrief, and Miss Parsons, and Messrs. Wilson, Parsons, Dykes, Kenny, It. Orr, jun., and U. J. Hill. A feature of the concert was the delightful «)i K in R of tlio St. Mary's Convent pupils, the Misses Segriei and M'Enroe, Miss M'Enroe being accorded an ovation for her singing of the "Carnivale de Venizia" (Benedict). Mrs. Ellis and Mr. P. A. ICennv played he accompaniments, Tho hall was kindly lent for Hie occasion by Mr. Hawthorn, and the piano b,v the Dresden Piano Company. The very tasteful and most effective decorations wore by Mr. 0. A. Chapman. of the llutt. At; the conclusion Dr. Purely warmly eulogised tho efforts of all who had contributed to the success of tho concorl, and the gathering brforc dispersing gave lliree clicers for (ho Mavorees (Mrs. Bunny).
