THE COAL VEND CASE.
4 MINE-OWNEKS AND SHIPPING COMPANIES. Bs Telccrs.Dh-Pross Associatton-Oopyriebl (Rec. July 11, 0.30 p.m.) Sydney, July 11. The whole of to-day's sitting jn the Coal Vend case was occupied by the continuation of the address of Mr. Kriox, counsel for the colliery proprietors. The address was not concluded when tho Court adjourned. Mr. Knox argued , that when coming to an agreement with the shipping companies, the colliery proprietors had in mind the general preservation of the industry and the uniform selling and hewing rates. Some of the shipping companies had also interests in certain collieries, and it was assumed that if no arrangements were entered into they would favour their own collieries in the carriage of coal.
