A NEW RECREATION GROUND.
MOVEMENT STARTED. ' A meeting was held last evening for the purpose of initiating a movement to secure an additional recreation ground for the city. The land lying in between the Brooklyn tramline ami the Oliiro Road is the spot which it is proposed to turn to some use. It is on the town belt, well sheltered and admirably adapted for the purpose. The conveners of the meeting, Messrs. George, Frost, dud W. J. Thomson, explained tho object of the movement. A committee was elected consisting of Messrs. Fisher and Wright, M.P.'s, W. J. Thomson, J. Barr, and 11. N. Holmes, and in due course it is intended to secure tho assistance of the various sports bodies and persons interested. The chairman, Mr. F. 11. B. Fisher, was authorised to approach tho sports bodies at once with :i view to securing their co-operation.
