Submitting tramway and power supply rot.nms for tho four weeks ended June 23, and total? for tho twelve weeks of operation to date, Mr. S. Richardson (City Tramways Engineer) stales that the gross revenue for the four weeks shows an increase of -£D 65, and the working expenses a decrease of .CoO, as compared with the corresponding period of last year. The. total result? for the twelvo weeks to date show an increa.-e in the gross revenue of .£2255, and an increase in tho -working expenses of -CGSS. After allowing for capital charges, there is a credit balaneo to date of .£.1608, as compared with ,£2ll I,'iil year. Appropriations from this balance," amounting to .£352. will be made, covering special expenditure on conversion of box-cars, etc. This leaves a net surplus to dale of .£l3lO. Power Supply Account.—The revenue from sale of current to date shows a decrease of Jilt), and the working expenses a decrease of .£4l. After allowing for capita! charges, there is a net surplus of .£lB6, as compared with .E23S last year. Traffic. Statistic.—The total number of passengers carried for the twelve weeks ended Juno 23. amounted to 5,350,00!), a.u increase of .'!(i:!,707 passengers. The carmiles run for the same period increased by 5555 miles. The traffic revenue \Kr carmile on city lines was 11,83 d., as compared with 'i;).S. r «l. last year, an increase of .9Sd. per mile. The working expenses per car-mile were 9.70 d., as compared with IO.OSd. last year, a decrease of .29(1. per mile.
