EIGHT DAYS IN A MINING SHAFT. By Telegraph-Press AsßoclaUon-Copyrieht (Rec. July 9, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, July 8. 'A man named Parr has been rescued from a mining shaft at Wyalong, after eight days without food and seven days without water. He fell thirty-five feet on to a soft bottom and was uninjured. All his attempts to ascend wero unavailing. He lost his voice for want of water and was unable to attract attention until the seventh day when rain fell and ho regained his voice and was ablo to shout for assistance which fortunately arrived. Beyond the weakness consequent' upon the lack "of food, Mr. Parr is little the worse for his adventure.
