The Minister for Railways wrote stating that he could not see his way to reduce freights on hardwood. Accounts amounting to £%i were passed for p.iyment. It was decided to accept Mr. .Toll's tender for Contract 159, and Mr' Hanlon's for No. 1G0; that Mr. Peter Allen be appointed surfaceman at Koputoroa; that applications bo called for the position of ranger for Wirokino; and that the council take action for the recovery of unpaid rates.
