MANCHESTER STRIKE RIOTS.
« ONE HUNDRED PERSONS INJURED. Bjr Telesraph—Press Assoclation-CoDvrlehl London, July 5. The carters' rioting continues. The police repeatedly charged the mob. There arc now 100 injured persons in hospital. The rioters e.ttempted to stop traffic on tho ship canal b.v stopping t.ho hydraulic works operating tho swing aqueduct at Barton. TROOPS DISPATCHED. (Rec, July 6, 10.30 p.m.) London, July 5. Mr. G. I?. Askwith, of tho Board of Trade Labour Dopartment, has gone to Manchester to endeavour to elfeot u settlement of the carters' dispute. A squadron of Scots Greys from York and -100 men of the Second Battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment havo been dispatched to Manchester to assist in maintaining order.
