ST. HILDA'S CLUB.

St. Hilda's Club, Island Bay, held its usual weekly* meeting in tlio club room, Ituniber Street. The evening was devoted to a "Parliamentary" debate. Tho "Government" brought down tlio following motion: "That this House is of opinion tlio time'lms arrived when all industries and services carried on by the State, municipalities or other public bodies should be controlled by boards elected oil tho adult suffrage principle! which Iwards should be entirely independent of tho general Administration." There was a good attendance of members, nearly all taking pari in the discussion. A "private" member proposed the following addition to the original motion: "Further, that the time has arrived for tho State to immediately commence the nationalisation of tho land and ull industries." This, together with the original motion, wa» carried by a large majority.
