There has been little movement of the barometer in tho northern and southernmost distriots, but a moderate rise has taken place elsewhere. Southerly and westerly winds have prevailed; moderate to strong, ■ with showery and chanizoable weather, especially in tho north and southernmost districts. Present indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds generally, and a rising barometer everywhere, with-cold and changeable weather, but squally in Fovoaux Strait. D.'O. Feilding, July s.—Heavy rain all night, and until 11 a.m., whon tho san came out. Cold, frosty night Palmerston, July s.—Heavy rain fell early this morning, but, about 9 o'clock, it cleared, and has been fine all day, I,hough heavy clouds wero hanging. Wanganui, July 5.-To-day has alternated between gloom and rain and sunshine, the latter preponderating. The weather is vary mild, though there aro signs of a renewal of frost.
