Tho storm in tho north and east coast of the North Island has moderated to-day The barometer has risen slightly in trio far north, but fallen steadily in the south. Cold and changeable weather has prevailed in tho south, and rain on tho cast coast of the North Island. There wae a heavy fall of snow last night on the ranges in Marlborough. South-easterly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed northward of Kaikoura- sjid Farewell Spit, and Tariable winds elsewhere. Present, indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northward, of Kaikoura, and Farewell Spit, and northerly winds prevailing elsewhere shortlr.
