TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
_ « MEETING OF THE BOARD. A meeting of tho Wellington Technical School Board was held last .evening, Mr. D. Robertson presiding. Members present were: Messrs. D. McLaren, M.P., G. Frost, J. P. Luke, M.P., J. Smith, AY. H. Field, M.P., J. E. Fitzgerald, and AY. Allan, It was resolved to wait on the City Council Finance Committee at ;ts next meeting, io solicit their co-operation in a deputation to the Minister for Education regarding a better Technical School site. letter was received from the Christchurch Technical School Board, asking the opinion of the board on the matter of scholarships for students from the day technical schools to the Universities; and also asking for an expression of opinion on the question of making it possible for the Arbitration Court to compel tho attendance of apprentices at the technical schools. It was decided, after very brief discussion, that no further action be taken in tho matter. A statement of the board's financial position disclosed a debit balance at the end of June of ,£157 3s. 3d., as against ,£BBI os.' 3d. for June of last year.
