srir/F/pow-\"Ei!S' view. ■■"All 'persons who closely follow the ♦rend of Labour politics in Now Zealand cannot fail to l:e impressed with the activity of the Labourvparty, and thothoTongiiness of their organisation," rims an extract from the annual report of the Hawkc's Day Sheopowjiers'. Association. "The general trend of labo.ur legislation, no.doubt at the instigation of the Labour organisations, seems to be to place more nn'd more restrictions on the industries of, the Dominion, and any thinking man can .only see ono end if the present rate of .'.restriction, is continued, and that is ■the ittter extinction nf industries requiring much labour.' Even now employers a fid : would-be employers fiml the utmost difficulty, in interesting capitalists .in any industry iu which labour is required." . ' k Jlalaura farmer who has visited winter shows in various places comments ns followsr-on the recent"fixture at Palmerston Xorth:-"! was greatly impressed with your dairy produce exhibits. It is a wonderful thing- to sec 110 fewer tii;-.u forty dairy factories competing in the class for best box export butter, and nearly all aie Xorth Island concerns. This is a striking proof of the headway that the dairying industry is making in the Xorth Island. And you Imve scarcely touched the fringe, ot it yet. There aro great possibilities in front of the Xorth Island in dairying. . . . The North Island is going to be a great producing area of dairy stutf. The exhibits of export butter in the show this year amply prove that."
