MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Tcleeraph.—Special CorresDondnnU Masterton, June 20. Two bankruptcies have been recorded in the Wairarapa during the month of June as compared with three for the sumo mouth last year. Tor the six months ending to-morrow there have been twelve bankruptcies as compared with thirteen for the same period last year, and 17 for the first six months of 1009. A meeting is to be held to-morrow night with a view to resuscitating the Wairarapa Gun Club. There was a large gathering in tho Town Hall to-night to witness the ■ production of "Sw-eet Lavender" by Masterton amateurs, as=istcd by the Wellington. "Mountebanks." Tho proceeds were in aid of tho district nursing fund. At All Saints' Church, Manchester, on March 110, Miss Florence Bailies, tho wellknown actress and singer, who visited New Zealand with "Miss Lancashire, Limited," was married to Mr. Albert C. Beattie, musical director. Mr. Terry, formerly in the employ of Messrs. Whitcombe and Tombs, ami a former member cf the Wellington Liedertafel, is a member of the Sheffield Choir,
