CORONATION DESIGNS.
During the past two or three days, Miss Murray's window, decorated specially in honour of the Coronation ceremony, has attracted attention and admiration. In the. winter time, moi-o than at any other, does one instinctively turn to vividness of colouring—probably bocauso of the grey and depressing days that wo sometimes have to endure—and it is small wondor that people have lingered and exclaimed at the glowing designs with which the window has been arranged. Perhaps tho most striking effect there is the harp, outlined in crimson berries and autumn foliage, with tho words written in jewelled letters on broad green and crimson bands, "God Save tho Kin?." .Tust beneath it. aro tho emblems of' the three countries, the rose, tinv jewelled shamrocks, and a fascinating'thistle. A golden crown, reposing in regal slate upon a purple velvet cushion, makes <i brave display, while, a lilt.lo above it, is a large photograph of tho King, framed with thick dusters of golden lam-el wreaths—a very graceful compliment surely. Baskets of flower's and posies lied with red, whiW and blue streamers are very much in evidence, and even the electric lights have charminst slndes over (hem of red, blue and while beading. Festoons of scarlet tulle add still further, to the effective brilliancy of tho window, while carnation*, the special Coronation flower, arc greatly in evidence.
"I notice that yo« always sit at yonr wife's left, Mr. M eggs I" "Yes," franklyreplied Mr. Mcbsb: "that's tho side hot glass eye .is on."
