The teo.m changed over for quartertime with tho score two all, and the same at that sta?e promised to be very close. Early in the.second quarter Wellington scored two more cods, each being the result of snlendid passing amongst, the attacks. Tlio Auckland men teemed to tire at this stage, but, nevertheless, they managed to notch another goal. Wellington subsequently added three more goals, and, at half-time, the. scores stood 7 to 3 in favour of Wellington. In the Inst half of the eamo Wellington showed themselves a much superior allround team to their opponents, and notched five goals against one. Those responsible for Wellington's score were Jlpyer. Grant! Fa'nia, Leydon, and Eyder. and for Auckland, Fhilson. Swales, and Walton found the net. For the winners those who ployed, best were I Jordan, O'Leary, Meyer,- Ltvdon, and Fama. Tor Auckland, the goalkeeper— Edwirds—jjlayed a splendid game, and'his captain—Stewart—was, perhaps, the best man on the side. The Waiters brothers; Philson, F. Brown, and Swales'arc also deserving of mention. There was a fair attendance of the. public, 'amongst whom was Sir James Carroll, and-the finer points of the game arousod enthusiasm. : .Mr. .M'Gowan was referee.

Masterton presently showed better combination, and forced the game into the Wellington, circle, where from a penalty "bully" Loader scored. Alter play restarted Masterton kept Wellington defending, and H. Williams and Loader each secretin, tho.-. oconel spell Loader scored two goals within (en vruinules. Wellington now had , a turn, and Hoskins finished up a.forward rush by fining the net. This was followed by .Ci'eig adding another, goal.
