Services were held at St. Mark's (Anglican). St. MaryV (Woman Catholic), and a united service ill Carrington Park. The friendly societies, band, school children, etc., firmed a procession. A torchlight procession and fireworks display took place in the evening. The buildings were decorated and flags fluwu everywhere. .. Hastings, June 22. Coronation Day was celebrated in Hastings. In the morning a procession was successfully carried out. It. passed through tho main streets of tho town, and then, with the general public to tho number of about 31X10, assembled around tho band rotunda in Queen Square. Here addresses were given by Ihe Mayor (Mr Ja«. Garnett), Colonel Russell, F.-rtliM Koogh, the Eev. T. .T. Wallis, the Rev. H. R. Hughes, Ilopi Hana, and Motu, as Maori "representatives, and Mr. L. r Peeler (head-master of tho Hastings School). ' Hawera, June 22. The Coronation was celebrated here today. The foundation stones a teakiosk, band rotunda, and fountain were laid. There was also a large assemblage at Maii.iin, including representatives of the Natives, who roasted a bullock whole ucar the site of the old Manaia Redoubt. Tauranga, June 22. The Coronation was honoured to-day by a. service at Trinity Church. The Baptists commemorated the occasion by laying four foundation stones of tho new Tabernacle. The Borough Council has decided to honour the historical event by erecting a Coronation fire station, the foundation stone of the building being laid by the Mayor. Feilding, June 22. Bad weather interfered with tho outdoor programme of the Empire pageant at the. Feilding School. A procession tool; place at 1 p.m., this being followed by a united service. Speeches were delivered by the Mayor and Mr. Guthrio, M.P., and the president of the Chamber of Commerce. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christclnirch, .Tune 22. Signs were not wanting to show that Christchurch to-day was celebrating worthily the great Imperial event of the Coronation of the King. Functions-such as the laying of foundation stones, planting ol: Coronation oaks, and turning of the first sod of the Coronation baths took place' in various suburbs in the morning, while later on were hel din tthe. main city churches united services of rejoicing and thanksgiving. At noon a battery at Hagley Park fired a royal sal up of 101 guns, "and later in (he day various processions formed up and marched to Hagley Park, where short speeches were given. Almost simultaneously with the booming of the guns- rain began to fall. It poured over the city, and did its wor't, the Coronation procession being .•-horn of much of its glory. There was fi large turnout of territorials, but the military display had to be abandoned. Perhaps the finest effort in the way of decorative illuminations was earned nut by the Tramway Board's staff, in respect of one of its breakdown wagons This was brilliantly illuminated with myriads of coloured lights, arranged njost beautifully, to represent the Crown and other Ttoyal devices.
' ' Wanganiii, June 22. The weather was fine during tho day, and it is estimated tfcat from SOOO to 10,000 people participated in the Coronation celebrations. Tho religious -services in tho morning were- largely attended. After a procession through the streets in the afternoon a big function took place in Cook's Garden?, where speeches were delivered, and the flag saluted. In tho evening rain fell, but a very large crowd lined the streets, through which au illuminated procession paraded. Tho town was gaily decorated, especially tho post office, railway station, and some of the principal business places.
