OTAKI ITEMS.

On Tuesday afternoon Bishop Sprott conducted a confirmation service at the Xative Church, when some seventeen.candidates (prepared by the Kev. ,i. A. M'Mickle) ottered, themselves. The ceremony—the first conducted by his Lardship in the Otaki parish—was an impressive one. On Tuesday evening some eleven candidates (prepared .by the Eev. Mr. Smith) were confirmed.

The postponed annual general meeting of the Horonhenua Horticultural and Industrial Society was held on' Monday night, when there was an attendance of tifteeit members. The President (Mr. \V.
