Tho Republicans nro in open revolt against the Reciprocity Bill, the supporters of which are not offering speech to explain their favouring of tho measure. Tho Republicans assert that if Reciprocity passes they will join tho Democrats in an attempt to lower tho duties on all manufactured products. Senator Root's' amendment is not forthcoming. Senators criticised tho lack of explanation of tho amendments in existence. Senator Root announced that ho would propose his amendment on Wednesday next.
