Tho police station is only reached by Imats. I'eoplo having business at. tho courthouse utilised boats. A horse nnd cart belonging to a baker named lierden, at Maldon, was found in a creek. Rerdon is supposed to have been drowned. Two bridges over tho Yarra at Warburton were swept away. The river haa overflowed somo of tho low-lying suburbs of Melbourne. After reaching a height of twenty-two and a half feet it began slowly to fall, but as tho water from higher reaches has still to como down a further riso is feared. HEALESVILLE FLOODED OUT. A FATALITY FEARED. (Rcc. Juno 21, 8.2 a p.m.) Melbourne, Juno 21. Tho floods havo caused numerous landslides and washaways, and railway communication with the districts affected is badly interrupted. Hoalcsvillo is partly submerged, and several residents havo vacated their houses. At Cora Lynn a resident took a horso and 6ome cows into his houso in order to savo them from drowning. Another was sharing his dwelling for several days with thirty pigs. A tramp who was camped on tho bank of a creek at Maldon is missing. • His effects havo been found covered with mud and debris. At Warburton tho river is over a mile wide, and a variety of property is floating doYni. A FUNERAL BOGGED, COFFIN-BEARERS WAIST-DEEP IN WATER. (Rec, June 22, 1.10 a.m.) Melbourne, June 21. Further rains havo fallen in various partj of the State, and tho riverß aie continuing to rise. At Moe, in Gippsland, a party of coffinbearers at a funeral, walked in water above their waists to the hearse. The hearso was bogged, and could not 1m extricated. Another vehicle had to be obtiined before tho funeral could proneed.
