The end of composite buildings in the business area of . \Vanganui is at hand, tho borough council having instructed its solicitor to prepare a by-law requiring that none but all brick- buildings shall be erected in the inner, area in future. College, for which £5000 is available. The Minister for Public Works has informed Mr. Hogan that .£3OOO will be expended this year on the Parapara Road, and that another .£IOOO will be authorised to carry tho work.on. Tho Minister says • he is somewhat disappointed with the progress of the road, due to shortage of labour, from which many other road works are also suffering, but, nevertheless, he intends to keep the work at Parapara going continuously.
