A CORRECTION.

MR. FISHER AND THE POLITICAL OUTLOOK. Mr. Fisher, M.P., who was reported to have said at Pctono on Monday night: "Put Mr. Masscy in and there will he chaos," points out. in a letter to the editor, that the context is missing:, and the words quoted, without the context, are manifestly absurd. "What I said," he writes, "was that the Government party was composed of many divorse elements, tho members of the Cabinet differing amongst themselves on many important principles: 'If Mr. Masscy wn.s put in there would be chnns' (amongst the members of the Government party), 'and out of chaos good might come. Certainly nothing worse could eventuate than we had at present.' When a speech of one and a half hours' duration is ■ hurriedly compressed it is not to be wondered at that such mistakes should arise."
