TO CELEBRATE THE CORONATION.
WHAT WELLINGTON WILL DO. THE PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE. In connection with . tho Coronation celebrations in Wellington on Thursday next, (he official arrangements arc now lompleted. The programme of events was reviewed very fuliy in Tub Dominion'. Inst weok. Since then certain details have been finally settled. Here is the programme at a glance:— 10.15 a.m.—Coronation service at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral, in tho presence of his KxcL'llency tlio Governor. Services will alto bo held at other Anglican Churches, at St. John's Church (Presbyterian), Willis Street (10 a.m.), and at the Soman Catholic Churches, and possibly at churches of other religious bodies. 10.15 a.m.—The troops and civilian portion of the procession, after assembly and forming- up at tho Basin Reserve, leave for Kowtown Park, for tho official celebration and military review. 11.30.—Troops will be paraded at Newtown Park, in review order, in readiness for inspection by his Excellency the Governor. 11.15—Officers and colours will take posts, and troops will slopo arms. Noon-Arrival of his Excellency tho Governor at New-town Park, Royal salute by tho Battery, National Anthem, and inspection. 1.5 p.m.—Proceedings conclude. Afternoon—Frco m'cturo shows for tl\e children. Evening—llluminations in the. city, and oi the warships; torchlight procession of military troops through the city, en route to tho Athletic Park, for the grand military tattoo and pyrotechnic displav; free concert at tho.Town Hall; State banquet. In connection with the review at'Newtown Park, the following additional arrangements have been settled:— The Eoyal Navy party is to disembark at the Boat Harbour, Clyde Quay, and await the procession at Ellico Street", Basin Keserve, to head Territorials to Newtown Park. The Junior Cadets are to be in position on the parade line before 11.15 a.m. Ticket-holders for reserved seats will present their tickets to the orderlies at the entrance to the seated enclosure on the western side of the Park. All should be seated by 11.45 a.m. The Roy-Daniel Street entrance to the Park will bo open, and it is requested that as many citizens as possible should use this, entrance to relieve the pressure at the main gates. Tho terraces and rising ground (except the seated enclosure, ami tho terrace- on the south end reserved for the procession) will be open to tho public, who are respectfully requested to take up their positions as they arrive, and not wait about on the roadway round the Park. The public will not bo admitted on to the flat ground on which the troops are to be reviewed. Should the day prove too wet to hold the review, the "D" Battery will fire the salute. Tho Territorial Force will, by 11.30 a.m., 'occupy the Garrison Hall, and tho Cadets, tho Town Hall. Tho signal for this will bo given at 10 aim,—threo guns fired from tho warship, and a red flag hoisted below the Union Jack on the Town Hall and at Alexandra Barracks. Following upon tho Governor's inspection, tho order of events up till 1.5 p.m., will bo as follows:—March past in column; march past, in quarter column; advance in review order aiid order armsj speech, by his Excellency;, speech by Acting-Prime Minister; speech by his Worship the Acting-Mayor; Psalm 100; Lord's Prayer; Eoyal Salute, all join in singing "God Save the King"; Colonel Chaytor will call for three cheers for the King." order of procession. " "■civilian portion; " !!: '"""' ■ Members of friendly and other societies and sports bodies, taking part in tho civic procession to New town Park on Coronation Day ■. will assemble in Cambridge Terrac6 at 10 a.m. sharp, and will form up facing the Basin Reserve, and commencing at St. Patrick's College gate, in the following order:— Navy League Members. Boy Scouts. Salvation Army Band and Army Members. Hibernian Society. British United Order of Oddfellows. Ancient Order of Foresters. Independent Order of Oddfellows. Sons and Daughters of Temperance. Manchester Unity of Oddfellows. Rechabites. Tramway Band and Traimvay Benefit Society. Ancient Order of Druids. Orangemen. Good Templars. Other Societies. Wellington Hockey .Association, Wellington Rugby Union. ■ Wellington Lacrosse Association. .Other Sports Bodies. It is expected that the Central Mission Band will also take part. The procession will leave at 10.45 a.m. sharp, and will junction with (ho Territorials at Buckle Street, No vehicles will be allowed in Newtown Park except. thos3 of his Excellency the Governor, tho Acting-Prime Minister, and the Acting-Mayor. All other vehicles in the procession or otherwise on approaching Newtown Park must turn into Roy Street and discharge their passengers there, returning to town by Daniel Street. The terrace- at tho south end of Newtown Park has been allocated to the various societies, sports bodies., etc., taking part in the civic procession, and will bs approached by tho eastern route. The military parade will disband after tho ceremonies at the park. Captain G. Hall is in charge of the civic portion of the procession. AT THE TOWN HALL. The Town Hall is to be decorated with bunting externally and internally on Coronation Day. In the' afternoon a freo biograph show for children 19 to be. given. The doors are to open at 2.20 p.m. Children belonging to charitable institutions are to be assembled, in readiness to enter, five minutes earlier. In the evening there is to be a grand municipal concert, in which the Municipal Orchestra and the Festival Auxiliary Choir will take part. The soloists will b'a Mr. John Prouso and Miss Segrief. Tlio choral conductors will be Messrs. Robert Parker, Lawrence Watkins, and Horace Hunt. Mr. Maughan Barnett will act as conductor of the orchestra and organist. Mr. F. Logan will lead the orchestra, and Mr. Horace Hunt will act as accompanist. The concert will ba open to the 'public, and no charge of any kind will be made. AT THE HOSPITAL. ■ A display is to bo made at the Hospital on Coronation Day with available materials, and patients are to be provided with some extra luxuries. At tho meeting of the Charitable Aid Committee yesterday, it was decided, at the suggestion of Mr. Robertson, that something should be done, to make Coronation Day pleasant for Iho aged people who are inmates of the Ohiro Home. Many of tho old folks, Mr. Robertson remarked, might possibly not live to see another Kin? crowned. Practically the old people will be supplied with Christinas fare.
