•■lho children of the Levin Memorial Homo were invited by the commisioners to visit tho Exhibition on Tuorday. They spent a very happy day there, and tho matron thanks tho many kind friends who gave- them so much pleasure, especially Mr. J. P. Lukp, M.l'., and .Mrs. Luke, who provided lunch, Messrs. Dakin and Johnston, who entertained Hitin at the pictures, Mr. M'Nicol, the Nugget Co., and other exhibitors who presented mementoes of the occasion to the children. ; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Salmond were passengers to Wellington from the south yesterday. Mr. and Mr?. S. Cimino are away on a thiee weeks' visit to Auckland. ■ The usual Thursday "at home" day at the Pioneer Club has been postponed, on account of the Coronation celebrations to the following Thursday, June 29. Miss Diddams (Greytown) is the guost of Mrs. Bridge at Oriental Bay. A-meeting of the Plunket Society is to take place in tho Town Hall this afternoon, at 3 o'clock. Dr. Coldicutt, accompanied by Mrs. Coldicutt, is a passenger by the Nairnshire, which is due in Wellington from London on July 7. Her Excellency the Countess of Dudley, accompanied by Adeline, Duchess of Bedford, is to leave Sydney for England, via Vancouver, by tho Zealandia on July 3. Word was received by the Inst English mail of the opening of tho new headquarters for women's social work in connection with tho Salvation Army in London. Tho new location is at 230 Mare Street, Hacknev, where, a.quarter cf a century ago, the officers of tho Army were trained. The new building was declared open by the Mayor of Hackney, Mr. Findon Jones, and tho delegates to the Social Congress wcro present.
