About 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon a motor-car containing three ladies and a man, and driven by one of the ladies, met with an accident at the JSilverstroam Bridge. It appears that the Cilr was coming towards the Lower Hutt,. and, when on° tho bridge, it side-slipped, crashed through tho woodwork, and dropned into the stream below. Two of the ladies wero thrown clear, but the male occupant and tho other lady were precipitated into the water. Another car happened to bo coming along, and the occupants rendered timely assistance. - All the principal warehouses in Wellington City will be closed on Thursday next, Coronation Daj.
