ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. (By' Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, June 1.0. At tho inquest at the hospital on Cho body of James Price, a single man, aged 35, who died under chloroform,. the medical evidence was to the effect, that an operation was being performed to removo an abscess in the liver, as tho only chance of saving the man's life. The jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. TRIGGER CAUGHT BY TWIG. Auckland, Juno ID. A boy named H. Hjorch, aged 12 years, and a son of a resident of Hoteo, was climbing a tree with a gun to shoot sparrows, when the trigger was caught by a twig, and the gun went off, inflicting very severe inju-y. - The sufferer was removed to tho hospital and died there. A MAN DROWNED. Napier, June 19. Tho body of a man about 70 years of age was found -floating near tho breakwater 'yesterday afternoon. From a pocketbook found in (lie coat pocket, it is supposed deceased was named P. Stewart, and was employed by the liabbit Board. From the appearance of the body, it had not been more than about a day in the ,water. FOUND DEAD. Christchurch, June 19. A man named Harry Whitlow, living at Hapuku, Kaikoura, was found dead on Saturday. He had been out tending cows, and as he did not return a lad who was sent to look for hiin found him lying on the ground, ne leaves a wife and five children.
