Tho Lord Mayor, Alderman Taylor, promised a deputation of representative citizens to-day that lie would call a public meeting to discuss tho Stato's proposal to deprivo tho Governor-General of his present Sydney residence. The proposal ha* aroused much hostility amongst tho supporters of tho Opposition.
