. 4 . (By TelrsracU.— Special Correspondent.! Palmcrston, June 18. A rather serious accident happened in Rangitikei Street this afternoon, when a motor-car and a motor-cyclist camo into noll Non. The motor-car, belonging to air. Hammond, of Carnarvon, was travelling up Rangitikei Street when the cyclist (Mr. Robinson, a dairy expert) came from a side-street. Both the driver of the car anil the motorist tried to turn oh', but failed, and the ear struck the motorcycle with considerable force, throwing tiie rider for a distance. He was picked up, and carried into the hotel alongside. Dr. Groigg, who attended him, found that he had received some severe cuts on tho head, and was badly shaken. He, however, was able to go to a private hospital shortly after. The occupants of the car escaped injury. In attempting to turn away, the ear ran into a concrete watertrough, and was considerably damaged.
