BAPTIST COLONIAL SOCIETY.

ADDRESS BY A NEW ZEALANDER. At the annual meeting of tho Baptist Colonial Society, held in Bloomsbury Chapel, London, early in May, tho Rev. R. S. Gray, of Now Zealand, gave a glimpse into tho religions lifo of the colonies and into the reality of tho relation which existed Iwtween tho colonies and tho Homeland. He said tho colonial Christians owed everything humanly to the Homo Churches—their inspiration, ambitions, and opportunities—and made also great claims upon the Homeland for the future, and that they challenged the British Churches to follow their example in the prosecution of social reform. At the business meeting which followed, very gratifying statements were made as to the growing usefulness of this youngest of Baptist undertakings. It was felt that in tho proposal, already being put into effo'ct, of. securing to emigrants a welcome on tho part of Christian people as soon as they should land in tho colonics, would in itself, apart from all other activities, oiion up an exceedingly useful field of service.
