PREMIUM FOR SUPERIOR
! BUTTER. ' EFFORTS TO EXCEL. i Thoro is a movement in New South ! Wales to give a premium to- superior f brands of butter, as distinguished from J average primo brands.' Referring to this differentiation in. prices, the manager of ; the Inverell factory, in his monthly rc- \ port to suppliers, says:—"Now suppliers j have this matter, of increased price ciiI tirely in their own hands, and those who jvislv to receive au'-.extrn k\. per lb. for '. 'their butter, mttst' continue their rcj fiulnr deliveries, and take extra care, in • every detail to land .their cream at the '■ factory in a thoroughly sound and sweet condition. Factories will now require to ! -:nake an alteration, in the past methods ! of grading, and a special class will be initiated for' tho dairymen supplying a f fresh, sweet, choice-flavoured cream, which ! will be treated separately from tho ordinary first crade, and just as the factories must strive and use every- endeavour to get their brand included in this premium quality, so must each individual supplier use every effort to deliver fresh cream, enabling it to be graded as 'selected,'"
