The Finance Committee recommended t« the City Council last evening that the rates for (lie current year bo the tamo as were levied last year, viz.:— General rate, 2 1-lUil. in the £ on the unimproved value. Water rate, 2J per cent, on the annual value. Hospital and Charitable Aid rate, 2Jd. in the X on the annual value. Kate for interest and sinking fund on city improvements loan, 1-od. in the £ on. the unimproved value. Hate for interest and sinking fund on Emulation fund No. 1, 7-20 d. in the £. Kate for interest and sinking fund on, sanitation loan No. 2, l-2Gd. in the £. Bale for interest on portion of consolidation loan, 1-K)d. in the £, Library rate, l-]3d. in the £. One-third of a penny in the 4? (on Mc-1-row Ward only) for interest aiul .sinking fund on Molroso improvements loan. Kate for interest and sinking fund on outlying districts drainage- loan, 5-7 d. in Die .£. Sanitation fee, 14s. 2d. per houso.
