Attention has frequently bnen directed to (he disabilities of access to The Terrace and Kelburno from tho centre of the city, and it is contended that when it is considered that .£2730 in rates aro paid annually by the owners of residential properties iii tho locality served by the climb up Church Street or Jacob's Ladder, as if is commonly termed, the claims of the ratepayers for a better method of access are not without potent argument to support thorn. In order to focus public on'nion upon this matter, a nicotine of ell interested is called for Monrlav evening next, at Spiller's Hall, Boulcbtt Street] to discus the advisableness of approaching the City Council with a vie.wto the council's undertaking the construction of a subway and elevator to connect Boulcott Street and Tho Terrace by wo.v of Church Street, and as the TCncfnl public are interested in the Victoria College and the Kolburnc Park, to which easier access will bo given if the project is given effect to, a large attendance is expected.
